 One
of the reasons we love our animals so much is that they all have unique personalities
which make them more than just a pet - they are part of the family. But what starts
off as a funny little quirk can soon turn into a nightmare! A nippy puppy may
be harmless and cute but at two years old the same behaviour could cause serious
damage. Or you may have a 'rescue' animal that was mistreated by its previous
owner and as a result is now causing havoc in your home.
Animal behaviour
problems can creep up on you over time or be present from day one, either way
they have the potential to cause serious disruption in your day to day life. My
job is to help you and your family deal with these issues so that the unwanted
behaviour can be modified and your household returned to harmony. The Behaviour
Counselling I offer focuses on Dogs, Cats and Parrots (all psittacines) with all
breeds and abilities catered for. Some of the most common problems are:
 |
- Separation Anxiety
- Spraying or House Soiling
- Aggression
to other animals or people
- Fear of loud noises (fireworks, traffic, gunshot)
- Fear of the car and travelling
- Unacceptable noise levels in Parrots
- Feather Plucking

These are just a few examples of behaviours which many pet owners find
difficult to cope with and, in extreme situations, can lead to the animal being
given up - causing grief and heartache to all involved. IT DOESN'T HAVE
TO BE THIS WAY. Whatever the problem (don't worry if it's not listed above) help
is just a phone call away. Counselling sessions will be held in your home at your
convenience with initial consultations lasting approximately one hour. Often,
one visit is all that's required, but if follow-up visits are needed these can
also be arranged. Although I specialise in Dogs, Cats and Parrots I would
be more than happy to give advice on any issues you may have with any other domestic
animals such as Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters etc.
